448 अथर्वसंहिताभाष्ये अतो जीवात्मनो देहेवस्थानं प्रार्थ्यते । आरुह्य च अँजिर्विः अजीर्णः
- सॄष् वयोहानौ । औणादिको विन् प्रत्ययः । 'ॠत इ-
विदयम् वेदनम् आ वदासि आवद । ल- सन् । " डातोः” इति इत्त्वम् । त्यसंज्ञोस्मीति आचक्ष्वेत्यर्थः ॥ सप्तमी ॥ मा ते॒ मन॒स्तत्र॑ गा॒न्मा ति॒रो भून्मा जी॒वेभ्यः॒ प्र म॑ो मानु॑ गाः पि॒तॄन् । विश्वे॑ दे॒वा अ॒भि र॑क्षन्तु वेह ॥ ७ ॥ मा । ते॒ । मन॑ । तत्र॑ । गा॒त् । मा॑ । ति॒रः । भूत् । मा । ज॒वेभ्य॑ः । प्र । मः । मा । अनु॑ । गाः । पितॄन् । विश्वे॑ । दे॒वाः । अ॒भि । रक्षन्तु । त्वा । इ॒ह ॥ ७ ॥ तत्र तस्मिन् यमविषये ते मनो मा गात् गतं मा भूत् । तथा मा तिरो भूत् अन्तर्हितं विलीनमपि मा भूत् । किं च त्वं जीवेभ्यः बन्धु- भ्यस्तेषाम अर्थाय [ मा] म मदः अनवधानं मानुहि । मदी ह- पें । पुषादित्वाद् अङ् । मदि: प्रोपसृष्टः अनवधाने वर्तते । पि- तून मृतान् पूर्वपुरुषान् मानु गा: अनुगतिं मा कार्षीः । विश्वे देवाः इन्द्राद्या इन्द्रियाणि वा त्वा त्वाम् अभि रक्षन्तु सर्वतः पालयन्तु । कु- त्रेति चेद् उच्यते । इह अस्मिन्नेव शरीरे इह भूतले वा ॥ १ P मा. We with PJ Cr. 1 Sayana's text is: रथमजिवि in place of रथमथ जिर्वि, where the थ of the word अथ would appear to lave been lost through a slip of the writer. The accidental lon of थ woulil ilhen sm to be the origin of the reading अजिविः in place of अथ fafa. We can hardly suppose that Sayana had nothing more than an indifferent MS. of the saithita before bin when he wrote his commentary. If so the strange carn tus Ictionis due to the slip of a seribe unust be much older than Sayapa's time. That Various radings strose trota bad Mss. is rendered further prolable by Fagana's reading राथजिते धीनाम् in VI. 130, 1 instead of राथजितंयीनाम्. The act. dat the pada MSS. Here read राथजिते । यीनाम् | would also indieate that these cor- rapt reading which one their origin to careless copyists were older than the tiue of Sàyana.
