mentioned in the past participle (tirohio-hidden) in the Stra is seen to be subsequently referred to in the next Sikra (III. 1, 5) * "Or it is through conjunction with its body", by the prononu in the masculine gender. In the vinard's Surg ('atyalakra v. i 1)* Reference by a pronoun to what is hidden in sands (compound) (is permissible) ", the reference to that which is subordinately mentioned in words formed with Krt and additz and other v¢ttis 1s accepted, Therefore let there be reference by the word' I am this in the passage "Naya agji ..." (K. ८. . i . z0} to briya iberation, subordinate}y indicated in the past participle brete' in the mantra Yeyond prete ..." etc. It cannot be said that the raising of such a doubt as to whether there is liberation or not ih respect of one who is fiberated is self-contradictory, even as the doubt as to whether there is or is not eating in the mlain who has eaten, because we cal accept that there is }iberation in general but we can reasonably raise a doubt ju respect of the particular nature of liberation ; and so the word this can refer to that particular natureNote if } be asked whene is the word "brayaH ' seen as signifying liberation, as it signifies only departure from ones body. In the Sruta, prakasikar, the word prayana is interpreted as signifying departure from the final (or last karmic) bodyaccepting the word as signifying departure from its body (in = general). (We reply) Be it so. However let the doubt be only in respect of the departure from ones final body, since the word 'this' could refer to it. If further it be said that it having been well determined already there can be no doubt about it. (We reply) True. But it would be reasonable to raise the doubt as to whether departnre from its final body laappeus just before the manifestation of the nature of Brahman (in him) (or after).
