In respect of this, even by Gods doubts were euter tained before. Verfly this is not easily comprehensible . This truth (dharma) is subte 0 Naciketa5, ask for a different boon . Press tme not. Please press ne not Leave me please,

COMMENTARY :

Having been thus asked (to explain the nature of the freed (auka, Death (Mrtyn), deeming that one is not capable of reaching it since the thing to be taught was very difficult (to understand) but is likely to fall down in the middle of the streat1), speaks thus ** Degit atrapi... "

depair abi : Even by those Gods who know much

tra ¢sti : in respect of the soul that is freed,

vicinitsitat : doubts were entertained, namely

आari : the truth about the sol is not easily comprehensible

aturesa a roach: (because it is a very subtle truth (dhara. Dharma (truth in generai itself is difficult to comprehend. This is particularly very much so. This is the 1ntent1on.

anyai Param : different boon. The meaning is clear.

a roperosir : {at nd means prohibition, Duplication signifies vipsj, emphasis. Do not press further.

Did not even the Gods entertain doubts about this, as Thou sayest ? 0 Death, that which thon so yest is not easily comprehensible, none else like thee to teach could be got, No other book whatever is equal to this,
