It affords great facility to the study of works of Kalidas in their different aspects, thus to the study of t's mind and art. It would have much added to the utility ook, if Mr. Padhye had given his own appreciation of the 8 passages at the beginning of each chapter. The features of the muse of Kalidasa are well brought out in ume, His unrivalled command over Sanskrit, the ease ce of his style, his lofty conception of the Supreme Being, -er of compressing suggestive thoughts in a few well chosen his apt similes, his spirited dialogues-these and several excellences are well illustrated in these selections.
