शुचौ (in a ) pure; देशे in a place ; प्रतिष्ठाप्य having established ; स्थिरं firm ; आसनं seat ; आत्मनः of self (his own ); न not ; अत्युच्छूितं very-high; न not ; अतिनीचं very-low ; चैला- जिनकुशोत्तरम् = चैलं च अजिनं च कुशः च उत्तरं यस्मिन् तत् cloth, and, skin, and, grass, and, in succession, in which, that.
तत्रैकाग्रं मनः कृत्वा यतचित्तेंद्रियक्रियः ।
उपवेश्यासने युञ्ज्याद्योगमात्मविशुद्धये ॥ १२॥
There, having made the mind one-pointed, with thought and the functions of the senses subdued, steady on his seat should practise yoga for the purification of the self. (12)
