[ 283 ] born ; सात्विकी sâtvic; राजसी rajasic; च and; एव even ; तामसी tamasic; च and ; इति thus ; तां it ; श्रृणु hear. . सत्वानुरूपा सर्वस्य श्रद्धा भवति भारत । श्रद्धामयोऽयं पुरुषो यो यच्छद्धः स एव सः॥३॥ The faith of each is shaped his own nature, O Bharata. The man consists of his faith;1 that which his faith is, he is even that. (3) सत्वानुरूपा-सत्त्वस्य अनुरूपा of the being, following the form; (according to) सर्वस्य of all; श्रद्धाfaith ; भवति is ; भारत 0 Bharata; श्रद्धामयः faith-formed ; अयं this; पुरुष: man ; यः who; यच्छ्रद्धः या श्रद्धा यस्य सः whatever, faith, whose, he; सः that ; एव even, स: he. यजंते सात्विका देवान्यक्षरक्षांसि राजसाः । प्रेतान्भूतगणांश्वान्ये यजते तामसाः जनाः ॥ ४ ॥ Pure men worship the Gods; the passionate the gnomes and giants ; the others, the dark folk, worship ghosts and troops of nature-spirits. (4) यजंते worship; सात्विकाः the satvic; देवान् the Gods; यक्षरक्षांसि-यक्षांसि च रक्षांसि च Yakshas, and, Rakshasas, and ; रा. जसाः the rajasic; प्रेतान् ghosts ; भूतगणान् = भूतानाम् गणान् of elementals, the hosts; च and ; अन्ये others; यजंते worship; तामसा: tamasic ; जनाः people.
