Seeing all these kinsmen, thus standing arrayed, Kaunteya, (27)
श्वशुरान् father-in-law ; सुहृदः good-hearts च and; एव also ; सेनयोः in (two) armies; उभयोः (in) both ; अपि also; तान् these ; समीक्ष्य having seen; सः he ; कौंतेयः Kaunteya; सर्वान् all ; बंधून् । relatives; अवस्थितान् standing.
कृपया परयाऽऽविष्टो विषीदन्निदमब्रवीत् ।
अर्जुन उवाच ।
दृष्टैमं स्वजनं कृष्ण युयुत्सुं समुपस्थितम् ॥२८॥
Deeply moved to pity, this uttered in sadness :
Arjuna said:
Seeing these, my kinsmen, O Krishna, arrayed eager to fight।
कृपया by pity ; परया (by) extreme ; आविष्टः entered (filled) ; विषीदन् sorrowing ; इदम् this ; अब्रवीत् said; अर्जुनः Arjuna ; उवाच said; दृष्ट्वा having seen; इमं this; स्वजनम् = स्वस्य जनम् of one's own, people; कृष्ण 0 Krishna ; युयुत्सुं wishing to fight; समुपस्थितम् standing together.
सीदंति मम गात्राणि मुखं च परिशुष्यति ।
वेपथुश्च शरीरे मे रोमहर्षश्च जायते ॥ २९ ॥
My limbs fail and my mouth is parched, my body quivers, and my hair stands on end, (29)
