स्वधर्मम् =स्वस्य धर्म of own, duty; अपि also; च and; अवेक्ष्य having seen; न not ; विकंपितुम् to tremble ; अर्हसि (thou) oughtest ; धर्म्यात् (than) righteous; हि indeed; युद्धात् than war ; श्रेयः better ; अन्यत् other ; क्षत्रियस्य of the Kshattriya ; न not ; विद्यते is.
यदृच्छया चोपपन्नं स्वर्गद्वारमपावृतम् ।
सुखिनः क्षत्रियाः पार्थ लभन्ते युद्धमीदृशम्॥३२॥
Happy the Kshattriys,O Partha, who obtain such a fight, offered unsought as an open door to heaven. (32)
यदृच्छया by chance; च and ; उपपन्नं happened ; स्वर्गद्वारम् = स्वर्गस्य द्वारं of heaven, door ; अपावृतं opened ; सुखिनः happy ; क्षत्रियाः kshattriyas ; पार्थ O Partha ; लभन्ते obtain ; युद्धम् battle; ईदृशम् like this.
अथ चेत्त्वमिमं धर्म्य संग्राम न करष्यसि ।
ततः स्वधर्मx कीर्तिं च हित्वा पापमवाप्स्यसि ॥३३॥
But if thou wilt not carry on this righteous warfare, then, casting away thine own duty and thine honour, thou wilt incur sin (33)
अथ now ; चेत् if ; त्वम् thou; इमम् this ; धर्म्यं righteous; संग्रामं battle ; न not ; करिष्यसि (thou) wilt do ; ततः then ; स्वधर्मं own duty ; कीर्तिम् fame; च and ; हित्वा having thrown away ; पापं sin ; अवाप्स्यसि (thou) wilt obtain.
