It is evidently clear that co-existence is not possible if the objects are not more than one. So co- existence cannot be imagined unless there are objects different form the object with which co-existence is attem- pted to be proved. There will be contradiction in concep- tion if identity is regarded as cause of co-existence. If then separateness be regarded as cause of co-exis- tence the defect is not lessened. Nagarjuna's point is this that if separateness only is regarded as cause of co-exis- tence then in all cases of separateness we should expect co-existence, but in such case the same defect as we noticed in case of identity (of the two) will arise, because if one object is present then there also must exist separateness in relation to certain other object. So we see that if separate- ness is regarded as cause of co-existence, then in case of identity the question of separateness cannot be avoided. 11511 किञ्च, पृथक्त्वे सहभावश्च यदि किं रागरक्तयोः ॥ सिद्धः पृथक पृथग्भावः सहभावो यतस्तयोः ॥६|| पृथक्त्व सहभावश्च रागरक्तयोः परिकल्प्यते। किमनयों: सिद्धः पृथक् पृथग्भावः । किं रागनिरपेक्षो रक्तः सिद्धो यतस्तयोः सहभावः स्यात् । पृथक पृथक् सिद्धयोरेव हि गवाश्वयोः सहभावो दृष्टः । न त्वेवं रागरतौ पृथक् पृथक् सिद्धाविति नास्त्यनयोः सहभावः । . मञ्जव्याख्या ननु यद्यपि पृथक्त्व न सहभावव्याप्य' व्यभिचारात् तथापि पुनरेव वक्तुं शक्यते यत् सहभावश्चेत्तहिं पृथग्भूतानामेव स
