{ 70 1 to relatives and properties is not inherent in man. It is conditioned on the body. So long as one lives, one con siders some persons and things as his own. But when one dies the body itself ceases to be one's own I cप to speek of the relatives and propertics. Take into consideration the Jiva apart from the body which he leaves Lehi.d and which therefore is dead. Who are his relations and which is his property ? Wren this truth is taught and learnt, there is no doubt that some at least would try to get rid of their attachment to persons and worldly things and a spire for superior and permanent results. One Imore question which is the final One . It is Karma, action that is responsible for Samsare series of births and deaths and the resultant suff erings of men. Each man has got his Karma that has accumulated from time immemorial. No Karma could be got rid of unless its result is experienced. In these circumstances is it possible for any Ean to be ewer free from Karma and attain Brahman ? Yes, it is possible, says Uddalaka. After know- ing the truth and greatness of Sat from a competent teacher one should practise Dhyanayoga' meditation upon it. When this yoga is ripe it becomes so powerful as to render all the Karma of the practiser ineffective on him. To illustrate this.
