Between the periods of (each) Manu and at the beginning and end (of the kalpa) there are intercalary periods each eual to (the duration of) a Krta age. 12. The Krta and other ages (viz., Treta, Dyapara and Kal) are, respectively, four-tenths, three-tenths, two-tenths and one-tenth of a yug4.
